• Page 1 (Original Post) • xihababy (1) from Philadelphia - A huge embroidered shoe attracts visitors during a China Shoes Culture Tour Show in Guangzhou, the capital city of Guangdong Province January 8, 2006. The 2.8-metre-long and 0.87-metre-wide shoe is said to be the world's biggest; three people can lie down in it. It took seven skilled craftsmen six months to complete Comment #1 Dustin (63.176.159.28) - That pretty cool. Do you know of a link I can use to find some pictures? Comment #2 Zenita (63.176.159.214) - That sounded cool, can you guys provide a link of that embroidered shoe? Comment #3 Ecclea (63.176.159.116) - Embroidered shoe? Then what does that look like? Can you provide a link to an image of what and how big it is. Asians are really creative but sometimes weird people. Comment #4 Brad (63.176.159.105) - So what if they could may that big shoe? Then who's gonna wear it? Sometimes people (and not only Asians) do senseless things. What a waste of time, energy and resource while they could more better things that could benefit themselves or the people around them or for the good of environment. Comment #5 Maria from Sanitago Chile - Don't be so quick to judge! In Montevideo, Uruguay, outside the Punta Carretas Mall there are two huge chairs. Now, they may not be the worlds largest chairs, but they certainly won't fit in your living room. Comment #6 boot biz (121.243.172.241) - We specialize in slip resistant and safety toe footwear. We stock the largest selection of industrial footwear including the brands that your employees want most. Our prices are very competitive and usually the lowest. Comment #7 Kira (63.176.159.32) - A little kid stands by the world's biggest embroidery shoe at a shoe exhibition in Shenyang, N. China's Liaoning Province Saturday, April 15, 2006. The 2.8m-long, 0.71m-wide, and 0.84m-tall shoe is able to hold three little kids inside. Comment #8 cwemoy (63.176.159.135) - Brad, they do what seems sensless to you but do you know what; it keeps them stress free and busy. What would you rather they did? Picture the amount of visitors that visit the country to have a look at the world's biggest embroidered shoe and how much they make in turn. That is creativity at its best. Am thinking of making the world's smallest shoe that will only be visble under a microscope Comment #9 pale-o from around the world (63.176.159.41) - A bit of brainstorming on making the world's smallest shoe has not borne much fruit. Now that it took skilled craftsmen just six months to complete this marvellous piece of art, what amount of money is normally pumped towards maintaining it. If it was indeed embroidered, what amount of string was used for the whole process? Comment #10 Jason (63.176.159.77) - I think I found the world´s largest shoe. How´s that for a large shoe! Take care... Comment #11 Luna (63.176.159.175) - I do not know if I should post this but cwemoy had posted on how he wants to see a small shoe that will only be visible on microscope. Comment #12 Lumina (63.176.159.184) - Wow, I visited that link and I just irritate my eye. My gosh, i would not do that with my foot. Restricting it to grow and worst, that woman with a small foot or what they called lotus foot seemed to be having trouble walking and relies on a crouch.. i would never do that if it is the way to become pretty, i would prefer to be ugly if that is so. Comment #13 Kira (63.176.159.111) - Everything comes with a price Lumina, even beauty. To become beautiful some women thinks of small waistline, big butt, long shiny hair, silky skin blah blah blah, but actually it is not the case. Comment #14 Viola (63.176.159.216) - Very well said Kira. But the fact that when you see those flabby belly and not so good looking skin makes some women feel low and so it would be a little hard for them to look at the other side, to think positive. Comment #15 Eve (63.176.159.120) - I wonder what else, so far, are the largest that was ever made of its kind? That's a pretty interesting topic in which easily stems from this citing. Giant shoes, giant handbags, soon there may even be giants roaming the earth again so that they can wear all the giant clothing that is being produced. Comment #16 Restat Then (63.176.159.220) - since we are talking about special shoes, could you refresh my memory and provide an information about a specific shoe worn traditionally by ancient Chinese women to make their feet shrink or look closer? I kind of forgotten about it and could just vividly recall some specifics about its description. I think I saw it one on the episode of Ripley's Believe It or Not. What was that shoe again? Comment #17 Jennah (63.176.159.116) - Sorry to bring this up again but I did not like what Brad commented... Comment #18 Eve (63.176.159.116) - I do not think that the world record aspect is as important one, but surely, quite simply for entertainment purposes, for the sake of art, as well as aesthetics, I can visualize many seemingly extreme a thing, being considered as citable. No one should be considered as being senseless Brad, unless one has grounds that would fully support the claim. Comment #19 Michael Drake (63.176.159.179) - It is definitely recognition and of course to attract tourists. With so many countries competing with the tourist market they must have some extra ace up their sleeves right? These "record breakers" or "record makers" attracts potential visitors for their country. Curiosity has always been an effective tool in bringing home the bacon (or endangering the parties involve) so don't react to negatively on why do countries support such things coz they will just benefit from it in the end. Comment #20 Eve (63.176.159.243) - So right Michael, though not all things that countries do may indeed benefit, at least, not as far as the majority people is concerned. There is still hope remaining that one would surely be able to benefit from everything that their country or "government" does, but we can only hope. Comment #21 Sarah (63.176.159.154) - I think Brad is having some issues in life that is why he is saying those things. I think his post deserved those statements made by Jennah. Comment #22 Sarah (63.176.159.150) - Those stuffs are made to attract tourists, both local and foreign. it is not usual to see those kinds of shoes and yet they are there, so I am sure people would be very glad to see those. I am also thinking about that special shoes, how are they made? I wonder how many people work on that shoes. Anyway, hope to hear from all of you guys and keep posting here. • Page 1 (Original Post) •
