Congratulations to Edgar Vergara on winning the Iverson X theme of the 2005 Artist Series Contest. Amazingly, Edgar has just captured his third 1st place finishes in 3 attempts - placing him on top of the overall theme winner list. This entry will be one of 10 finalist for the Rendering of the Year.

Congratulations Edgar! We are all proud of you!

Comment #2 Jimmi from New York (Contact Member) -

This relates to shoes, HOW?

Is 2005 Artist Series Contest is shoe contest? What did Edgar Vergara got from winning?

Yes the 2005 Artist Series Contest was a SHOE contest! So Jimmi, yes it does relate to shoes.. duh!

Each artist can submit only 1 illustration per month according to that month's theme. The winner of each month will be entered into the final round monthly winners will compete for 2008 Artist Series Shoe Design of the Year. There will also be an Artist of the Year Award (most consistent performer).

So the 2005 Artist Series Contest is a Shoe design contest, wow that seems like it would be pretty hard to design shoe well enough to win an award. Good job Edgar Vergara.

I see Jimmi had nothing to say..

What is to say? Someone clarified my question.. which should have been make clear to begin with. So, now you my dear shoeless Dustin are drifting away from the topic here which is SHOES!

shoeless? where did that come from?

I just bought this awesome pair of Nike's, there white with a black Nike check. These shoes are so freaking cool. I also bought my boyfriend this nice pair of black Jordan's I let him open them early and he love's them. I think that if I would have looked around on the internet first I would have found them a little cheaper because I bought this pair from the mall and paid about $105

Geri you pry could have gotten these shoes cheaper on the internet but depending on where you would have gotten them from. You definetly would no want to get a cheaper pair of the same shoes, and get them, and find out they were used...ewww haha

Geri, where did you get those nike shoes at? I would also like a pair I bet they are awesome, I am pretty sure I have seen this one girl wearing them that I know and they look nice! lol

I got those black and white Nike's in a shoes store at my local mall. The store is called Champs. I said in an earlier post I paid around $105 but I think the price was probably more like $90. There are Nike sites you can find the shoes if your interested Liz. I would try going to www.nike.com or www.eastbay.com if you looking for some cool shoes.

Thanks Geri, your such a wonderful help, what would someone ever do without you. I was able to get super nice shoes from there like pastrys! Thanks for all your help geri! :)

Hi, my site sell shoes too. I had already added your site yet, so please add my site to your links. Thanks very much.

Hi leon can you post some information about your shoes. What they look like, how much they cost. Stuffs like that.

Well, are there any pictures out there of Edgar's award winning shoes? If we're going to congratulate him, I would at least want to see what we're praising him for, no offense to Mr. Edgar.

Comment #17 proud shoe wearer (63.176.159.103) -

That dude from Philadelphia should post pictures of the so called 'winning shoes.' So do you submit shoes that you own or something you have made blah blah...what are the conditions for entry, like what sum is paid, and is it open to other proud shoe wearers like me?

Lynn, I think Geri is aware that indeed, expensive is good but of course they might turn out to have been used before.

Comment #18 Geoffrey Macharia (63.176.159.30) -

Congratulations to Vergara.. you know am wondering what one has to do to win such a competition, no, really how many shoe designs can there be? In Kenya we just get used tyres and cut out a pattern around one's foot and you're good to go. We call them "akalas". Strangely enough tourists pay good money for them just because they're "pimped" with maasai beads. Anyway, congrats again Vergara!

Xihababy, how come there is no such link to sample the shoes?

Yet again Macharia, that does not mean that is what you wear to work and all other places. I would be amazed if for example I saw President Kibaki donning them to state house. I think the tourists are just attracted to the creativity behind them.

How about organizing a competition for the best design of 'akalas?'

Congratulations, Edgar. Gentlemen, the world of industrial design, covering millions of items including shoes, is ripe for creativity. Our minds "fix" ideas about things and we expect them to be the same all the time. A "shoe" is a "shoe", big deal! Just a shoe! No! Not right, there´s a lot of room for creativity and innovation. Avanti! Edgar...

Ladies, whatever Milosch has said still applies to you. Apparently, creativity is not a universal language. Unfortunately, the human mind takes time to appreciate change.

The designers that keep injecting dynamism into the shoe industry deserve a pat on the back.

It seems to me then that Edgar was a persistent guy..doing it for three times also means he has huge passion.

All the best in the overall competition.

Choosing the appropriate one..

There are many different shoes to wear for sport. You may be thinking that all sport shoes come under the heading trainers, which is correct in a way but there are many different variations of trainers. Depending on the type of sport you are playing or what physical activity you are involved in will depend on the type of sport shoe you should be wearing. Here is a look at some of the different sports / activities and the sport shoe you should be wearing for them.

Choosing the right sports shoes. Well i think buying shoes in this forum seems to be a hard work to do. But why?

In my opinion, buying shoes is choosing the perfect, comfortable fit. It does not matter what the brand is, as long as it fits perfectly and you have to money to purchase it.

Or if you are getting confused on which dolor to buy, try consulting your zodiac forecast. hehe

What was that Mila, getting confused with the 'dolor'? Do you mean 'color'? I happen to do the same mistake when typing words, my paperwork were most of the time turn downed and would need revisions because of my mis typed words. I hate my teachers when they read the whole term paper.

Anyway, i have to agree with your post Mila. But with the zodiac thing, i think i have to think it over. :)
